Hey, everyone. I am Zachary Hubbard, a history major and an Appalachian studies minor. I am a senior here at Tech and the Corps of Cadets and want to work with the Park Services when I graduate. I enjoy hiking and being outside the most and when the weather is bad I watch TV and play some video games. Over the summer, my family and I drove half of the Blue Ridge Parkway, from Cherokee, NC to Galax, VA, learning more about where I am from and the history of the Parkway. The plan is to reach the end of the Parkway by the end of this year, time permitting. I also have a great love of the decades surrounding World War 2 and have enjoyed Dr. Gitre’s World War 2 class in the past. My hope for this class is that I get a full understanding of the consequences of this war to our history, present, and future.
