Hello world! My name is Tana Putnam, and I am a junior history major. I am also a cadet, and am hoping to become an officer in the U.S. Army upon graduation. My goal in life would be to do my service to my country, and then become a mother and raise a strong family. Family is the most important thing in my life, and I hope to have an amazing one of my own one day. I’m really interested in history (hence it being my major) mostly because I’ve lived in Germany for 9 years and have had to opportunity to travel widely and experience places many people will never get to. Something I’m especially interested in is military/war history. I’ve been to Normandy twice, once for the D-Day anniversary where they reenacted storming the beach. I’ve written many papers on Normandy and the tactics involved. This course sounded interesting to me because I like WWII history and studying the effects of the war in Europe will make for an exciting semester. I mostly want to focus on war veterans on both side of the war, and how they were treated.
